The construction of stage one of the upgraded levee attracted prices of almost $1.8 million and $2.8 million, either side of the NSW Public Works Department estimate of $2.3 million.
Mayor Greg Conkey said the levee upgrade was a long process, but it was moving ahead.
“I appreciate the community’s patience as we hit a number of stumbling blocks,” Cr Conkey said.
“We are moving forward and I’m quite confident from all reports from staff that we will get a good result.”
