Local businesses are being urged to give Wagga a tourism boost by applying for the Wagga Tourism Partner Program.
The program, which has a successful first year with 70 partners joining the program, markets businesses and the region together.
Team leader visitor economy Fiona Hamilton said showcasing the region will help boost tourism in Wagga.
“Annually, about 1.3 million tourists choose Wagga as a destination for short or long stays for work or leisure and spend about $340 million at local businesses,” she said.
“Local tourism operators have had some great ideas about how to expand the program and we’ve taken that on board with two more partner categories, new marketing collateral and networking events.”
The new categories will allow for smaller boutique retail, cafe and accommodation operators within 120 kilometres of the Local Government Area boundary.
The 2017/2018 program will be launched on May 31 and businesses can sign up during the year but will need to register by June 15 to be included in the Visitor Guide.
