Slept all day Friday and slept well and started again at 8 p.m., but found practically nothing to do. Practically all patients had been cleared out and very few were coming in. However I made the rounds, collected the figures of those marked for evacuation, as well as those of the other C.C.S., and found that there were not enough to fill a train so that they will wait until daylight. Wrote some letters during the night alongside a heater as ‘tis very cold.
NOTE: The next diary entry is October 8.
