The coach was carrying 43 people. According to Albury Local Area Command the incident occurred at 5am. One passenger was treated by paramedics at the scene for smoke inhalation and the occupants made alternative travel plans. 

The fire is believed to have originated in the brake area.

The bus was significantly damaged and will require towing from the area.

As a result one lane of the Hume Freeway, Holbrook, south bound is closed with traffic controls in place.
