In a coup for Murrumbidgee Turf Club, Berry will be one of the guest speakers at the Wagga Town Plate luncheon before riding on both days.
Berry has been booked to ride Cool Chap for Lee and Anthony Freedman in the $150,000 Wagga Gold Cup (2000m).
Berry, 26, has missed the last couple of Wagga carnivals and cannot wait to get trackside next week.
“I’m very excited. The Scone and Wagga carnivals have always been my favourite, I can’t really split them, and they’re something I look forward to every year,” Berry said.
“You have the autumn and spring carnivals, and then for me, it’s Wagga and Scone.
“They’re always a great couple of days. You get a good night out on the Thursday, catch up with a lot of people and then go and do it all again riding the next day.
“I haven’t had the opportunity to do that much in the last five years. I’ve only been there once in the last five years after being in Japan and Hong Kong, so I’m really looking forward to it.”
Fresh from his spectacular success on Chautauqua in the TJ Smith Stakes earlier this month, Berry has already been in popular demand for Wagga.
Berry has already committed to multiple rides for the Freedman stable, and also Matthew Dale at Canberra.
He will have his first ride on the Freedman-trained Cool Chap in the Cup.
“He ran second in the Albury and Canberra Cups so he’s in great form,” Berry said.
“I’ve got a few rides for Lee Freedman and also Matthew Dale.
“I’m looking forward to getting back there and hopefully riding some winners.”
Berry is set to be joined by the likes of Brenton Avdulla, Corey Brown, Tye Angland and Tim Clark at Wagga. Last year’s Cup-winning hoop Blake Shinn is out suspended.
