“It’s a dollar more than the charities had before,” organiser Narelle Potts said.

“We are never disappointed with the amount we raise.”

More than $409,000 was raised from 12 contestants and their partners this year and Mrs Potts said it was indicative of the generous community we live in.

“People are incredibly generous and it’s got such a good name now that people support it,” she said.

Organisers will take a break before starting to plan the 2018 event in two month’s time.

Participants for 2018 will be announced toward the end of this year.

“We’ve got people that are keen to participate,” Mrs Potts said.
