The $10,200 Redbank Lodge Standardbreds Coolamon Pacers Cup (2210m) is the feature of a bumper 11-race Anzac Day program.
In-form driver Blake Jones will take the drive on Northern Velocity in the Cup and Stockton hopes the mare will take running down from the front.
“I think so, but she’s a tricky sort of a mare. The three times she’s been beaten with me was when she went slow in front...she would prefer to go 57 than 2.03,” Stockton said.
“I’d say she’ll be leading and be in front for most of the way. We won’t be handing up.”
Stockton believes it is a very competitive Cup field.
“It’s the best Coolamon Cup field I’ve seen in a long time,” he said.
“I think it will be very competitive.”
Stockton is no stranger to success in his time in harness racing, but is yet to land a Cup win.
“We’ve had a couple of group one starters but haven’t won a Cup,” he said.
“It’d be nice to win a country Cup.”
Stockton also believes stablemate Jessica Amber will be hard to beat in the last race.
