Right from the start, Royals looked every chance scoring the first goal to send shock waves to CSU in the 3-3 draw.
CSU was too reliant on keeper Scott Sippel as defender Hugo Hartley went down early with an injury.
Even though they had gained the led by half time, CSU players blew several chances in front of goal.
With a goal by Royals with five minutes left on the clock, they kept on attacking CSU’s defensive circle, preventing CSU from replying.
Royals were well led by Pat and Josh O’Donnell and former Royals player Mitch Pitkin coped well under pressure.
The draw was Royals second ever and ended 11 successive wins in a row for the team from Round 12 last season.
Meanwhile, after knocking off Royals in the last round before Easter to notch their maiden win for the season, Harlequins were no match for top of the table team Lake Albert.
Lake Albert defeated Harlequins 6-1 on Saturday.
Despite the return of Stuart Martin after several seasons away, last year’s grand finalists had no fire power as keeper Ben Burdett faced an avalanche of shots on goal.
With two goals to Benson Williams and a hat-trick of goals by veteran player Gregory Martin, Lake Albert was never challenged.
Brendan Pottie and Paul Oakman played well for Lake Albert and Brett Manning was best-afield for the green team.
