Owned locally with John and Billy Evans, the four-year-old mare made the trip from Sydney to take out the $12,000 in a thrilling finish.
Sitting behind leader Ned Pepper, Ima Mystery Girl was able to find space in the straight to score by a neck.
Trainer-driver Jarrod Alchin, who is originally from Temora, explained connections were keen to take out the race so he decided to make the trip.
Despite racing out of the grade, the mare backed up a strong performance at Penrith last start.
Alchin was impressed with her efforts.
“The draw helped and when she got a good trip she was always going to be hard to beat,” Alchin said.
“She was a C3 racing out of her grade, but I think she’s a pretty nice mare who went off the boil for a couple of starts.”
