Member for Wagga Daryl Maguire welcomed the announcement as families prepared to send their children back to school on Tuesday.
“This is a big win for schools in the Wagga electorate,” he said.
“There’s nothing more important than making sure our kids are safe, especially when they are making their way to and from school.
“Children are some of our most vulnerable road users.”
The state government announced in August last year a $5 million program to install extra flashing lights at 400 NSW schools.
There are 48 school zones in the electorate that covers 50 schools and almost all have al least one set of flashing lights.
The project is expected to be finished by July.
