When Clive Anderson isn’t at his home in Turvey Park he can generally be found at his “second home” the Murrumbidgee Turf Club (MTC).

The 84-year-old has been going to the races in Wagga since he was 17-years-old.
“I like my horse racing and my whole family loved the races too,” Mr Anderson said.
“I hardly ever miss a race meeting.”
In 2014 Mr Anderson was honoured to received his life membership.
The MTC has changed dramatically since Mr Anderson started attending race days with all the improvements changing the look and feel of the venue.
“The improvements have been phenomenal, the whole complex has changed for the better,” he said.
On a typical race day Mr Anderson will arrive early and save a table for himself and his friends in the members.
“I’ve made a lot of nice friends through the races,” he said.
Before races start he heads to the mounting yard to watch the horses and jockeys before making a bet.
The night before the races is spent studying the form guide which he bases his bets on.
“I take it to bed on Friday night so I’m ready for Saturday,” he joked.
Mr Anderson bets “within reason” but isn’t always successful despite his years of practice.
His love of racing isn’t limited to the MTC or to the gallops. Mr Anderson also frequents the Wagga trots and occasionally travels to race meets around the region.
One of his friends, Bill Kipping, does the photo finishes at races and will invite Mr Anderson along for the drive.
With Mr Anderson's 85th birthday coming up in May he has no plans to stop going to the races.
“As long as my health holds out I’ll continue to go,” he said.
