New details in bombs, guns haul near Wagga

TWO homemade bombs and 10 high powered guns were hidden inside a dug-out hole covered in leaves on a public property 50 kilometres east Wagga.

New details have emerged as officers desperately hunt for the owner of the weapons, found near the Nangus tip on Tuesday.

The firearms consisted of five rifles, three shotguns and two handguns.

Police revealed the seizure came after a “tip-off" from a nearby resident.

“We’re thankful to have them off the street,” Inspector Peter Robertson said.
