The Bradleys agreed that while there’s no specific recipe, one of the secrets to a long and happy marriage is communication.
“You make a commitment in life and you’re supposed to stick to it,” Mr Bradley said.
“It hasn’t all been easy but you talk things out if you have a problem.
“We were brought up in hard times and it’s gotten easier as we’ve gone along.”
The pair, born and bred in Tumbarumba, met at primary school and officially tied the knot in 1952, running a farm together for most of their lives.
Mr Bradley said the highlight of their marriage was watching their four children, eight grandchildren and now eight great-grandchildren grow up.
“The kids have made my life – watching them go off to work and bring their partners home has made us so happy,” Mr Bradley said.
“We’ve got a great family.”
The couple celebrated their anniversary alongside family on Good Friday.
