Families will have food on the table as the Wagga Bread Ministry will receive $5 from every ticket sale from Foodbank, which is the beneficiary of Live Aid 85 – The Tribute.
Musical director Jonny Gardiner wanted to be as authentic to the original event as possible.
“We thought we could make it a big thing and help out local charities as we go,” he said.
“When we had the original idea, it would be disingenuous of us not to involve local charities.
“We are recreating the big roles and music that stood the test of time.
“It really does take you back to the 1980s.”
Queen’s performance, Led Zeppelin and The Who’s reunions and Bono’s contribution will all feature in the show.
The show will play at the Wagga Civic Theatre on July 21 and tickets are available from nextbigthingentertainment.com.au.
