After almost stealing victory last week after leading in a slowly run race, Leeton trainer John Thompson is hoping Stylish Trend can make it two on the trot at Wagga on Friday.

Not even reinsman John Scott realised how slow the pair were travelling when they race a 68.2 first half before Stylish Trend went on to record a winning mile rate of 2:08.4.
However Thompson is sure they’ll need to go much faster to take out the Cottontails Winery & Restaurant Pace (2165m).
“I’d definitely say so,” Thompson said.
“I don’t think Johnny (Scott) will let that happen again.
“He’s drawn good on Friday but he’s stepping up in class a bit and there a few handy ones in there which will make it a bit hard.
“He should run an honest race.”
Drawn to start from barrier two, Thompson is expecting plenty of early speed in the race.
The win was just desserts for some consistent efforts from the four-year-old.
Coming into the race he’d missed the placings once in his last five starts.
Thompson believes it’s a true indication of the son of Bettors Delight.
“He’s been consistent and always seems to be in the money,” Thompson said.
“He’s a nice little horse – he tries all the time and hasn’t got any bad manners or faults.
“He’s a good horse to work.”
