Kanck coached the Boiled Lollies in 2014 before moving into a club coach role in 2015.
Kanck will bring a wealth of knowledge to the role and will continue to be supported by Jason McQueen and the existing coaching team from lower grades.
Wagga City face Waratahs in round one of the competition on Saturday week.
