On Monday night, council decided to leave Riverina Regional Tourism, choosing to join Riverina Murray Destination Network instead.
Mates Gully owner Paul Nolte said Wagga had a lot to offer tourists, with many attractions that Sydney couldn’t meet.
“We blow their minds when visitors come from Sydney or Melbourne, you just don’t see this in the cities,” Mr Nolte said.
“There are all of these diverse little places nearby with something to offer, like Coolamon, Junee and Temora and we’re in the middle.”
According to Tourism Minister Adam Marshall, a “tourism bonanza” led more than 70 per cent of tourists to visit regional NSW.
