This weekend, Ms Harpley, along with hundreds of others, will take on Relay for Life in memory of those who have fought long and hard against cancer.
Now in her fourth year, she started participating after her grandmother and best friend’s mother were diagnosed.
“They were pretty proud of us for doing it,” Ms Harpley said.
“It’s very close to our heart and the whole family participates every year.”
Ms Harpley said raising money for cancer research and support keeps her motivated.
“Staying up for 24 hours is a pretty big challenge, it never gets any easier,” Ms Harpley said. “It’s great to have the family by my side.”
