A big crowd turned up to see the Riverina Football League premiers take on the Saints at McPherson Oval for the first time in 35 years.
The Tigers' superior fitness and better delivery enabled them to win by 17 points.
North Wagga led by two points at half-time before the Tigers kicked away in the second half to score a 8.4 (52) to 5.5 (35) victory.
Wagga Tigers captain-coach Shaun Campbell was best afield, dominating the midfield.
Campbell Lovell, Dylan Morton and full forward John Buchanan (four goals) also played well.
The Saints showed enough to suggest they will be contenders in the Farrer League this year.
North Wagga play Barellan in the first round on April 8 while Tigers have to wait until April 29 to kick start their premiership defence.
