In a venture of his own, Bryce Hagen debuted his hand-made and self-designed bow ties at the Lake Albert markets on Saturday.
The Kooringal High School student said he hoped to bring a dying style back to life with material, jewellery, class and a sewing machine.
A fan of all things hats, coats, ties and braces, Bryce said he had taken on the challenge of starting a small business, “Get Knotted”.
“I’ve loved bow ties ever since I was little,” Bryce said. “I used to wear them at my mother’s cafe and everyone thought I was cute and so I really got into it.”
Working within a busy schedule, Bryce said he was able to make six ties every week.
Bryce’s father Malcolm Hagen praised his son’s feat, which he said had also inspired his teachers.
“It’s all been his idea,” Mr Hagen said. “We have our own tea business and we’ve always encouraged Bryce to follow his dream… we don’t know where he gets the sewing from though.”
