Firstly she played for the Governor-General’s team against South Africa before becoming the youngest female to play for NSW.
Now it’s only days before she embarks on a new cricket challenge.
The 15-year-old flies out for Sri Lanka next week as part of the Shooting Stars tour.
Trenaman still can’t believe how her career has progressed since November.
“All of it has been incredibly unexpected,” Trenaman said.
"I guess I’m just trying to take it all in my stride.”
Trenaman has had plenty of time to get ready for the Sri Lankan tour with Australia’s emerging players under 21.
“I’ve known for a few months now and the preparation has all gone into it,” she said.
“It’s been a lot of hard work, but it is definitely very exciting.”
While no stranger to taking on those much older, Trenaman is once again the youngest member of the squad.
She believes taking on Sri Lanka’s best female cricketers will not only be a challenge, but so too will the unfamiliar environment.
The leg spinner is hoping to excel in the traditionally spin friendly conditions.
“It should be a good test for all of us girls, especially in the foreign conditions,” Trenaman said.
“It should be a good challenge.”
Trenaman’s rise in the sport could also be timed perfectly.
This week Cricket Australia offered its female players a massive pay rise as part of a package.
The proposal would see women receive an immediate average pay increase of more than 125 per cent, increasing pay from $79,000 to $179,000 as of July 1.
There are plans that by 2021 international women cricketers will earn an average of $210,000 while state cricketers, playing both WNCL and WBBL, would see their average pay more than double from $22,000 to $52,000 this year.
Trenaman would love to be able to become professional cricketer and such deals could make it a reality.
“It is definitely a big goal of mine and there is an excellent pathway now for girls,” she said.
“With new pay deals coming through it is possible now.”
