Our feminism farce
WHILE the press and TV are so rapt in drawing attention to the bullying of women, how about doing the same for men.

For many years, very little court support for them has been forthcoming.
I am an advocate for both parties and have witnessed both men and women having been beaten beyond recognition along with their children.
Today, the emphasis is only on women due to “women’s lib” (which has totally gone overboard) so much so that recently in Melbourne, it was decided traffic signs ought to be changed from a male figure to a “skirt”.
In the American election at one rally, Michelle Obama cried out to the women of America: “let’s get our first woman president as a victory for women’s liberation”.
Yet it was a man who won the day.
How can we ever forget the teary-eyed aftermath when Trump won?
The feminists (so used to getting their own way) took to the streets protesting in their millions as a sign of the sisterhood solidarity crying foul.
Women’s lib today is missing the point as to why this movement was founded in the first place.
No wonder men no longer give up their seats on buses, trains etc or open doors as a courtesy to women.
By seeing women as no longer needing to be considered, are instead insisting on being on equal par with men.
Women can’t have it both ways.
But of course, this isn’t really what they want.
They want total superiority over men and won’t be happy until they give the world its first female pope.

Guardian angels thanked
THANK you to those who came to my aid on Wednesday, March 15 after I tripped and fell on the pathway outside the Commercial Club.
People driving, walking by and staff from the club were all very caring and reassuring in their care and attention to me.
They stayed with me until the ambulance staff took over.
Ambulance staff also need to be thanked and recognised for the wonderful work they do.
It’s heartwarming to know that people in the community are prepared to give assistance to those in need.
Their names are unknown to me.

History’s real lessons
IN RESPONSE to Trevor Koop’s letter of March 14, in which he appears to look into his crystal ball and predicts the downfall of the Turnbull government in 2019, I remind you of the recent crystal ball gazing by the media, pollsters and politicians in the USA and the subsequent super surprise – the collapse of the trusted crystal ball and the never expected triumph of Trump.
You are free to do as much crystal ball gazing as you like but don’t put too much trust in it.
A cynical but true remark is “we learn from history that we don’t learn from history”.

My pet peeve
JENNY Moxham, you have convinced us to empty our fridge of meat, eggs, milk, cheese and ice cream.
We have purchased a big bag of rice and I’ve a lot of vegetables growing out in the back yard.
We can go with the rice, but we were wondering what do we do about the dog and the cat.
Are we allowed to buy some dog food and some cat food for them?
