A “treasured boy”, Wyatt Searle died on Tuesday after he was hit by a car outside his Sutton Street home.
It was less than two-weeks after his birthday.
He leaves behind his two sisters, Liliana and Charlotte, and his big brother, Ethan.
In a statement, Wyatt’s parents thanked family and friends for their kind and heartfelt support following the loss of their “precious Wy Wy”.
“The grief we are all experiencing is obviously very deep,” Mr and Mrs Searle said.
“The pain is so hard to bear.”
Jeremy and Jodie Searle said they were holding onto hope they would see their “gift from God” again soon.
They said their “mature, little old man” and his “larger than life personality” would be missed but they knew it would not be long before they could hold him again.
“He brought so much joy to our home,” they said.
“He melted the hearts of all he met with his overflowing character, affection and joyfulness.”
The Cootamunda community was left shaken and deeply saddened by the loss of the little boy – known to locals as “a real character”.
Police are investigating a 41-year-old driver – believed to be the boy’s father – who was allegedly involved in the accident.
Police say the man was unaware the toddler had been run over and was seriously injured as he drove away.
Paramedics rushed the toddler to hospital at about 4pm but he was unable to be saved. A report is being prepared for the coroner.
