Murray Mandel performed outside Wagga Marketplace on Tuesday during his new three-year fundraising tour to raise money for Lifeline and people in need.
He has already raised $6000 for the foundation, and hopes to put that to shame by 2020.
The musician said his main goal was to reach out and remind residents about the importance of having a “lifeline”.
“Having worked in a hospital, I know all to well the impact mental health conditions can have,” he said.
“It’s about people knowing there’s always an option there for them if they need it.”
Dr Mandel will remain in Wagga for the week before he continues his journey in Albury.
