Trenaman has been selected in the Shooting Stars squad to tour Sri Lanka later this month.
It comes as part of a stand out year for the 15-year-old Kooringal High School student.
Trenaman played alongside Ellyse Perry in the Governor-General’s XI before becoming the youngest player in history to represent the NSW Breakers.
Trenaman played two matches for the Women’s National Cricket League champions and was part of the squad for the final.
She also made her first grade debut for Wagga City this season.
Trenaman is the youngest member of the squad for Sri Lanka.
The Shooting Stars squad is made up of Australia’s best emerging players aged 21 and under and will be tour Sri Lanka from March 27 to April 11.
The squad will assemble in Brisbane on Sunday before flying to Colombo where they will play three one-day fixtures and three Twenty20s against Sri Lanka.
Georgia Redmayne, 23, is the only overage player in the squad, and national selector Shawn Flegler believes it is a great opportunity for all involved.
“It’s been really pleasing to see players like Georgia and Rachel perform strongly at an underage level for the last few seasons whilst those tied to WBBL clubs all played pivotal roles for their respective teams this season,” Flegler said.
“This tour will allow these players to experience cricket in different conditions and will play an important role in their ongoing development as future national players.”
The side will be coached by former Australian fast bowler Cathryn Fitzpatrick.
The Shooting Stars start their campaign with the first one-dayer on March 30 before the second the following day.
The third fixture will be played on April 3 before the three T20 matches on April 6, 8 and 10.
