Parents Jenny and Forrest welcomed a new fluffy bundle of joy into the world, Forrest Junior, on March 10 at Wagga’s Botanic Gardens Zoo.
The pair first captured the hearts of the community back in 2015, in a campaign to find a name for Jenny’s new boyfriend.
Forrest Junior has settled in well in his new farmyard pen home, keeping his parents on their toes.
Forrest relocated from Tamworth to Wagga in August 2015, when the community helped name Jenny’s new love interest after a famous character from the movie Forrest Gump.
Wagga City Council’s Caroline Angel said it was great to give the community a chance to watch a foal grow up.
“They’re settling in well and are comfortable, proud parents,” Ms Angel said.
“He is a very cute addition to our zoo family and has a put a lot of smiles on visitors’ faces.”
Ms Angel said the zoo was expecting big numbers in the school holidays.
“Who doesn’t love to visit a cuddly baby animal,” Ms Angel said.
