Veteran and pensioner Rob Eade is “triking” with his canine companion to commemorate fellow soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice during and after the Vietnam War.
Mr Eade laid an Australian flag for Wagga-born Peter Edward McDuff who lost his life in Vietnam in 1967. He was 22-years old.
The self-confessed grey nomad said he had laid more than 180 flags of an intended 600 at the birth places of the fallen.
As someone who had seen the devastation of war first-hand, Mr Eade said he just wanted the sacrifices of men and women to be recognised.
“I want younger people to respect service people,” Mr Eade said.
“I don’t think there’s enough out there.”
