Griffth powerhouses Hanwood FC and Yoogali SC meet Wagga’s Henwood Park, Wagga United and Leeton FC, and two squads from Monaro at Henwood Park from 9am on Sunday.
Jake Ploenges, Matt Menser, Brad Ingram, Nathan Trinder and Chris Hart will feature in Henwood Park’s line-up, with new inclusions Isaac Tancredi, converting back from Australian Rules, defence force recruit Lucas Monahan and ex-Junee player Geoff Euhus.
Wagga United will rest most of its first grade players for its FFA Cup match the following weekend.
“We’ll share it around, give some third and second-graders a run in the pre-season,” coach David McGowan said.
Leeton will no doubt rival the best, after five wins and one draw at an Albury-based tourney last week.
Hanwood spokesman Brian Bertolin said barring the loss of coach Jason Bertacco who injured his knee, the side was shaping up well.
Yoogali will trial a fresh squad.
“Aside from three or four players, we virtually have a brand new side,” coach Luke Santolin said.
“A few have left the area, a couple young boys moved on to bigger things and the bulk of our squad has gone over to the Riverina Rhinos.”
