In Wagga Local Court on Monday, the 21-year-old was given an eight-month suspended jail sentence for intimidation, a seven-month suspended sentence for driving in a dangerous manner and a two-year good behaviour bond for driving while disqualified.
He pleaded guilty to all three offences.
Police facts tendered to the court said the man drove up his girlfriend’s Tobruk Street driveway about 5.30pm on June 15 last year and smashed into concrete steps.
No-one was hurt in the crash, but the car was badly damaged and the jolt dislodged small items from a wall and a coffee table.
The man was later admitted to the mental health unit of the Wagga Rural Referral Hospital.
His solicitor, Max Staples, conceded his client had posed an extreme risk of harm to others.
