Wagga Derby Dolls coupled the friendly hit-out with a come and try day, introducing newcomers to the sport.
Around 25 players took part in the low-contact scrimmage, and then experienced players enjoyed a full-contact friendly game.
“We have low numbers, we don't usually get to bout, so it was good to get that experience,” president Erin Cattell said.
“It was really fun, everyone left with massive smiles on their faces.”
It was good preparation for two Wagga players who take part in the South Central NSW roller derby tournament in Bathurst next week.
Cattell would have liked to see more newcomers attend, and has extended the invitation, urging anyone interested to join in on Sunday afternoon practice sessions.
