Hotel owners Suzie Appleby and David Fahey were shocked to come across the pair in their new theatre building next door.
“It was like something out of a movie – and we thought low and behold now we’ve got one,” Mr Fahey said.
Mr Fahey said a number of interested customers took a look before the spider disappeared on Thursday and they disposed of the snake.
Mr Fahey said it was the third brown snake spotting in a week by some Finley residents passing through.
Wagga snake catcher Tony Davis said there were plenty of brown snakes in the area to keep him busy.
“I’ve visited a few in houses in the last couple of the weeks – they must be looking to stay cool,” Mr Davis said.
While Mr Davis said he has never witnessed a redback and a brown snake together, he recently visited a Kooringal house to rescue a small snake which was caught in a spider web.
