Illegal dumping across the city has continued to escalate, with drug paraphernalia and broken glass becoming a common fixture in local reserves.
Nathan Park – on the corner of Adams Street and Connorton Avenue – has been labelled a health hazard by residents.
Ashmont man Phil Keane took his 10-year-old son to the playground when he narrowly avoided stepping on a blood-filled syringe.
“You shouldn’t be taking your life in your hands by taking your boy down to the swing,” he said.
“It’s absolutely disgusting.
“Something needs to be done about it.”
Wagga City Council last year spent $154,591 cleaning up and disposing of rubbish across the city.
