Horses returned to the recently-revamped Albury track for the first time on Wednesday when the club held unofficial jump outs in front of stewards and Racing NSW officials.
Racing NSW created a non-TAB meeting for Albury on March 4 as a test for the track in the lead up to the new-look Albury Gold Cup carnival, featuring the Southern District heat of the Country Championships on March 19.
Southern District chief steward John Davidson said a decision on Saturday week’s meeting will be made next Tuesday.
“There was a few issues with the consistency (on Wednesday) but it’s consolidating,” Davidson said.
“At this stage we’ll take nominations on Monday, the club will conduct more jump outs on Tuesday and afterwards a decision will be made on the March 4 meeting.”
