The Cherrypickers have been boosted by the arrival of the versatile John Tauti to play alongside Raymond Talimalie and Visesio Setefano.
Tauti only arrived last week and will start off the bench while the ‘Pickers have also been bouyed with Thomas Woolford, Mitch Ryan and Nayah Freeman all returning to the club.
New captain-coach James Woolford believes they will be quality replacements after a high player turnover.
One notable absentee is Kyle Richens, who is getting married on Saturday and Woolford is meant to be among the guests.
“I’m hoping I don’t get there, as bad as that sounds,” Woolford said.
“We are hoping to get through to Saturday and give it a real crack.”
Woolford is unsure what role Tauti, who has played under 20s for the Warriors, will have in the team with options in the second row, at centre or on the wing.
Nayah Freeman was returned from Atherton and Thomas Woolford is also back after a stint in Newcastle.
He was originally planning an overseas trip this year but decided to commit to a season of football with the ‘Pickers alongside his brother.
They will help replace Boyd Strickland, Pene Webber, Denvour Kiel, Neil Thorman and Matt Murray who have all moved on.
“We have lost a couple but have gained some real quality,” Woolford said.
Young tackles hosts West Wyalong at 9pm.
