More than 60 beverages were served up for residents at Cafe Sonder on Thursday morning during the Wagga LAC’s “Coffee with a Cop” initiative.
Inspector Phil Malligan said the catch-up gave officers a chance to both inform Wagga locals and hear their concerns about the city’s crime.
“Police want to engage with the community and break down the barriers that exist as much as possible,” he said.
“We want to show that we have children in Wagga’s schools, we play sport here – we’re members of the community too.
“It really gives officers a chance to hear what people are worried about and how we can best tackle it.”
