Just two months after landing a hole-in-one, Carter has been rewarded for a top summer of golf with victory in the ladie’s competition.
Carter edged out Wagga Country Club ladies captain, Gemma Bromham, and Carmel Adamcewicz, who filled out the top three placings.
Narelle Jones and newcomer Helen Nixon rounded out the top five.
Wagga Country Club’s Peta Carter said it was another successful year of competition in the Summer Cup.
“We averaged 53 players, which is pretty good considering holidays, breaks and the hot weather,” Carter said.
“The course has been immaculate through that time.
“We had two 90-year-olds play, too, which was great.”
The Summer Cup is played twice a week over 22 weeks.
Awards were also presented for the best stableford scores throughout the competition.
Robyn Smith produced the best score, 25 points, on the front nine.
Monica Harrison claimed the best back nine score, also with 25 points.
