Adam Manwaring of Uranquinty was one of the people who helped to establish the social media campaign called Helping Hand for a Mate on The Land.
When he spoke to The Rural early last week the initiative had gained some 15 truck loads of hay.
But the interest and generosity of producers who wanted to pledge donations quickly snowballed and amounted to 75 loads.
Mr Manwaring said there was still more hay to take up to Dunedoo this weekend because they simply couldn’t get it all delivered last Saturday.
“We had so much interest, and so many people wanted to donate hay,” he said.
There was even a pledge of support from central Queensland.
”We had hay come in form Corowa, Yass, and Tumut,” he said.
“So much momentum came out of social media … it went nuts,” he said.
