Took over the station from the 12th this morning and found things very decent. Had a very busy time squaring things up as we had to carry on with sick and wounded as well as unpack and arrange our gear, etc. By the end of the day we had everything in apple-pie order, altho’ I found many very necessary things very short. We have several huts to work in with a few dugouts inhabited by a few of the personnel. Found the roads very fair altho’ very soupy, still the 3 days rest from traffic insisted upon from commencement of the thaw saved them from being cut up.
