Darrin Michael Stephens, 48, of Ashmont, faced Wagga Local Court on Wednesday and was represented by solicitor Duc Vo.
“My client pleads guilty to all charges, but there is a minor dispute on the facts,” Mr Vo told magistrate Erin Kennedy.
Mr Vo did not expand on what is disputed.
He will make representations to police in an attempt to resolve the differences.
The case will return to court on March 29 when Stephens may be sentenced if agreed facts can be tendered to the magistrate.
Stephens has pleaded guilty to four offences: committing an act of animal cruelty, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault and failing to leave a licensed premises after being excluded.
Police allege Stephens attacked two men after he was told to leave the Ashmont Inn hotel because he had become rowdy just after 6pm on December 19.
It is alleged he picked up a dog, described in the court attendance notice only as a puppy, and swung it around to hit people.
Police claim Stephens assaulted the publican and committed a more serious act of violence against another man, causing facial injuries.
Stephens was granted bail by police after being charged, with conditions including that he not go within 250 metres of the Ashmont Inn and not approach or contact his assault victims.
