Alexander played about 60 senior games for the Saints but has decided on a fresh start in the Riverina League.
Coolamon coach Matt Hard has been impressed by Alexander at pre-season training and believes he will be a valuable asset for the Hoppers.
“Ben has trained with us and hasn’t missed a beat. I think he will be a very good acquisition,” Hard said.
Alexander played predominantly down back at North Wagga, but also spent time on a wing.
“He could perform a few roles and we will look at those through the pre-season and trial games,” Hard said.
Alexander is Coolamon’s third recruit, after the earlier additions of former Hoppers Joe Redfern and Mitch Stephenson.
The only confirmed departures are Luke Gerhard and Chase Grintell, to Temora.
Also at Coolamon, Derek Owens as taken over as the new president, replacing John Piltz.
