In June, Professor Dillon will finally give it all up for the dream – retired life.
A Deputy Vice-Chancellor of five years and former information studies lecturer, professor Dillon said he believes education has the power to transform people’s lives.
“It’s a very satisfying role to have been in, particularly when students overcome tragic circumstances,” Professor Dillon said.
“To be able to watch them recover and graduate – is a privilege.
“Graduation is by far my favourite day because you know the stories behind every piece of paper.”
Professor Dillon said despite looking forward to retirement, he plans to keep busy. He will officially retire on July 22.
