Dean is back in Canberra resting up after the Strikers' Big Bash League campaign came to an end on Wednesday and is likely to return to action for Weston Creek Molonglo in a fortnight.

Cricket Australia's integrity unit is investigating an exchange between Dean's captain Hodge and Channel Ten, where the television commentary team provided statistics to Adelaide skipper.

Hodge was wearing a microphone as part of the BBL coverage and was told Laughlin had dismissed Sydney Thunder batsman Shane Watson twice in his last eight deliveries to the former Australian all-rounder.

Laughlin came into the attack the following over, but Dean felt Hodge would've brought Laughlin on anyway.

"Hodge is pretty switched on, I think he probably knows most of that anyway. I haven't got too much to say on that, but I guess it's the commentators fault, it's not really our fault," Dean said with a laugh.

"Benny Laughlin probably would've been coming on anyway."

Dean said it had been a tiring BBL campaign and he was looking forward to recharging the batteries over the next few weeks before getting back into local cricket.

He said it had been a disappointing Big Bash from the Strikers' perspective, missing out on the finals for the first time in three years.

The 32-year-old felt if they'd capitalised on one critical moment they probably would have made the finals - but admitted they probably didn't deserve to.

On a personal note, he said coming in to bat against the Melbourne Stars, having scored a pair of ducks in his opening two Big Bash games, was the most pressure he's ever been under.

Dean was disappointed he couldn't guide Adelaide to their must-win game against the Melbourne Renegades, where he was out for 21 in the final over as the Strikers fell six runs short.

"I was under a fair bit of pressure and I don't feel like I've ever been under so much pressure going into the game against the Stars to get a run," he said.

"Got moved down to a completely new position at six, which I haven't really played ever before in white-ball cricket."

Dean's contracted to the Strikers for next summer as well.

After a rest, he'll get back into grade cricket and will also look to play for the ACT Comets in the Futures League.

He'll sit out the Creekers' game against North Canberra-Gungahlin, with day one of the two-day Douglas Cup contest beginning on Saturday.

"I'll have a bit of a break and hope to get back into some grade cricket maybe in two weeks," Dean said.

"The peak of my year is getting ready for Big Bash, which is now done and dusted for another year unfortunately.

"You never know what will come up, I've obviously got some grade cricket with Weston Creek and still some Comets games I want to play."
