Judd broke his collarbone in three places after a fall on his bake at a training camp in Falls Creek last week.
The Riverina Tri Series gets underway on Sunday week with Wagga’s ‘Come and Tri’ event at Charles Sturt University.
Judd, who finished second in last year’s series, will unfortunately be restricted to the sidelines this year.
In positive news, he still plans to compete at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Chattanooga, Tennessee later in the year.
“I broke my collarbone in three places so I’ll be out for a few weeks,” Judd said.
“I’ll be off the bike for four weeks, the same with running. Swimming will be a fair bit longer.”
Top Ganmain triathlete Caleb Noble won last year’s series and is expected to be around to defend his title.
He was in the same riding bunch as Judd last week when he broke his collarbone.
To add further competition to this year’s series, there is also speculation that Wagga’s Ryan Miller will take part.
After Wagga, the series heads to the Ganmain Triathlon on February 5.
It then goes to Temora on February 12.
The Rock will unveil a new course on February 26.
The series will then conclude with triathlons at Holbrook, on March 6, and West Wyalong, on March 26.
