Wagga RSL’s Nick Grant and the Albury-based speedster Dave Tassell will spearhead Temora’s attack.
Gerhard said the quality bowling attack was a big bonus for the team.
“I think our bowling has been our strength and Nick Grant I think is the best bowler in Wagga,” Gerhard said.
“With him opening the bowling for us is massive.”
After ending Wagga’s 13-match winning sequence in the competition last season Temora couldn’t defend the cup at home against Griffith a week later.
Gerhard is looking to make up for that disappointment.
“We are definitely keen to get it back and have a pretty handy side,” he said.
“We’ve got Kurt Robertson playing, Dave Tassell and Nick Grant but it is just a matter of playing good cricket on the day.”
Temora are close to full strength but are without leading batsman Mark Stimson.
Young won its first O’Farrell Cup match in 61 years against Griffith last week.
Temora and Young started a Stribley Shield fixture earlier in the season before rain intervened.
Coming of a win over Griffith, Gerhard is expecting to face a Young outfit full of confidence.
“I think they are pretty handy,” he said.
“Temora plays in their competition and they won’t be too bad.”
