The club will celebrate Chinese New Year as a way of recognising the sport’s roots and raising money to buy a storage shed for their boats.
The boats are currently stored in a container and at a Scout hall but the club is looking to get their own storage at the lake shore.
Founding member Denise Flockton has Chinese heritage and suggested a Chinese New Year dinner to raise the money.
Guests will be served a seven-course meal at the Royal Garden Restaurant and enjoy traditional Chinese entertainment.
Participants are encouraged to wear something red.
Tickets for the February 3 dinner are still available by calling Deidre Tome on 0416 263 570.
