Tresillian will soon offer breastfeeding, sleeping, toddler behaviour, anxiety and depression support through the Family Care Centre at Glenfield Park.
Mrs Pryor said her daughter wouldn’t sleep and Tresillian, along with other services, were vital in helping the young family.
“It was a constant struggle,” she said. “I wondered what I was doing wrong and everyone was giving us advice and nothing helped.”
Tresillian nurses gave the Pryors tips and reassurance through the difficult time, which saw them rely on lots of coffee.
“You resign yourself to it, but you’re in it together,” Mrs Pryor said.
“We didn’t expect it to be easy but you wonder why it has to be so hard sometimes.”
With motherhood being quite competitive, Mrs Pryor said, a lack of sleep and isolation led to post-natal depression for a number of mums.
“I’m involved in Wagga Little Steps,” she said. “You judge yourself and it can happen quite easily. Children present gifts and challenges.”
