Parents of former Wagga Swim Club students have reported that Barb Blondinau has been regularly instructing coaches and, at times, interacting with students.
Swimming NSW suspended Blondinau for breaching child welfare policies. She has been allowed to attend training sessions as a spectator.
She shows no remorse.
- Former swim club president Chris Long
Wagga Swim Club past president Chris Long believes there has been little justice for the families involved in the case.
“She shows no remorse, she’s been suspended, yet the club’s allowing her on the pool deck,” he said.
“I can't believe she’s even allowed to be involved when she’s been suspended.”
In December, parents of victims in the case were dismayed to see Blondinau wearing her coach’s shirt to the pool and writing instructions on the board. They contacted Swimming NSW to complain, and since, Blondinau has been more covert. However, they will not be satisfied until she has been banned from spectating.
The Daily Advertiser contacted Blondinau on Tuesday but she did not return calls prior to deadline.
