A Sydney-based team and Canberra-based team fought for the A-Grade trophy.
Sydney-based Galaxy prevailed, winning 6-4, despite being down by a point at half-time.
Galaxy’s coaches used the friendly tournament as a selection trial for upcoming National Touch League in March.
Galaxy team member Carly Walsh returned to Cootamundra for the fourth consecutive year.
Walsh, and a grand final rival reunited after playing together for Australia in the 2015 World Cup, and one grand finalist from each team is preparing for the Mixed Open Trans Tasman tournament in April.
She has pledged to return in 2018, for another dose of country hospitality.
“It’s such a good atmosphere at Cootamundra, that’s why we keep coming back,” she said.
“Some of us get there early on Friday, go to pub, have lunch, everyone there is so nice and welcoming.
“You just don’t get that from people in Sydney.”
B-Grade: Try Again defeated Untouchables 5-4.
C-Grade: Cramped Up defeated Untouchables 11-1.
