For the third year running, Jeffery will lead the Indigenous All Stars teams into battle against the Group Nine All Stars in the pre-season clash at Equex Centre.
After missing the fixture through injury last season, Skinner has returned to coach the Group Nine All Stars again, replacing Cameron Woo.
The Indigenous All Stars have won the last five editions of the challenge and Jeffery is set on continuing the streak.
With changes to the Country Championships this season, the clash stands as the only representative fixture open to players of all ages.
Jeffery believes that will add extra incentive for players to get involved.
“I’ve spoke to a few guys and everyone is pretty keen,” Jeffery said.
“I usually get a pretty good response and everyone wants to jump in and play.
“Being the only rep game this year I think everybody will definitely put their hand up.”
After flirting with a Friday night date last season, the clash will once again be played on a Saturday.
Jeffery believes it will allow for more lead up games and a better experience.
“I think we have to build it up a bit more and make it more of a cultural awareness day,” he said.
“Hopefully this year we can make it into a really good day.”
