The image shows Cootamundra’s Dylan Herring and his cousin Riley Hartshorn joyously running along the banks of the Murrumbidgee with a pet dog/
“I love taking photos of my grandchildren but the sheer joy of being alive and exuberance in this photo appealed to me,” Mrs Ford said.
“It is the epitome of a country child’s recreation; they don't need PlayStations or computers to have fun.”
More than 100 entries were received into the competition, with eight making the final, including Mrs Ford’s image.
The competition aims to celebrate the bush larrikin in all of us. Mrs Ford is rarely without a camera with her main subjects being her grandchildren and nature.
